This one’s for all you rustic styled people that love the classic cabin look.
If you’ve ever vacationed in Tennessee, you’ll know that there are plenty of cabin rentals buried in the Smokies. And if you’ve ever stayed in these cabins, it should be no surprise that they are very “rustic cabin” themed. Woodland animal motifs everywhere, maybe a pine tree coat rack, log furniture, a fireplace (of course), and on it goes.
So of course, I’ve spent some time is these overly-themed cabins and came across something that I thought was rather clever for a rustic cabin home. In the kitchen, the builders had installed an old wagon wheel in the center of the room above a large island, and it held all the pots and pans. It even rotated so you didn’t have to walk around the island to get to the pot or pan you wanted.
I’m personally a fan of hanging pots from some sort of fixture in the ceiling instead of storing them away in drawers. And I tried to find a picture of the wagon wheel pot holder, but this bicycle wheel type is the best visual I could find. Either way, you get the idea. A wagon wheel looks much more appealing though.
So this weekend will most likely be project weekend. I’ve got a filing cabinet that needs painting. Nothing special, just a new coat of paint. I may also attempt my second round of a paint stick pendant shade. Who knows.
Happy weekend!
Clever!

Very impressive website. I really enjoy reading it. I need to stop by sometime and see your Grandpa’s kitchen in person. He did a great job. Take care.
